Vietnam is changing fast. People young and old are embracing technology that has flooded the country. Internet cafes are quickly becoming a thing of the past, wifi is everywhere, and smartphones and tablets you expect to see in the hands of people in the first world can now be found in the most remote regions in the country.
Young people are taking cultural cues from western countries and are posting YouTube videos of themselves bmx biking through Hanoi and skateboarding in Lenin Park. Western music is almost just as popular as the Vietnamese music and what is considered fashionable changes on a daily basis.
The cities and highways are also under constant construction. When one business closes it doesn’t take long for another one to spring up in its place. The country is exporting goods just as fast as it is importing western culture and is investing in infrastructure. Public works projects are happening on every block.
